Now, we’ll talk about the fifth type of parasite we nee to eliminate from our lives in order to live happy successful lives. The Self-Righteous parasite.
These spiritual parasites go around purposely destroying people’s lives. They are down right hypocrites who pass judgement on others for things they do themselves.
Jesus had a lot to say about these kind of people. In fact, they were they only type of person Jesus asked “How will you escape the condemnation of Hell?’
These parasites actively go around trying to bind people with spiritual ropes and render them powerless. Jesus put it this way: They crush people with unbearable religious demands and never lift a finger to ease the burden. (Matthew 23:4)
They go around parading around, acting like they’re better than everyone else. Thumbing their noses at people they don’t think are good enough – just like the Pharisees of old. They act as self proclaimed “divine” bouncers telling people who is and isn’t “good enough” to enter Heaven.
Jesus says to these parasites in Luke 11:52, “What sorrow awaits you experts in religious law! For you remove the key to knowledge from the people. You don’t enter the Kingdom yourselves, and you prevent others from entering.”
These parasites are the second most dangerous type and you need to be on guard for them! They destroy peoples souls, devour widow’s houses, cheat the poor and steal people’s power to live a truly vibrant spiritual life in Christ.
They will leave you feeling worn down and worthless. Nothing is good enough for these parasites and never will be.
They go throughout the world looking to someone to make into copies of themselves. As Jesus put it in Matthew 23:25,“What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you cross land and sea to make one convert, and then you turn that person into twice the child of hell you yourselves are!
They appear to be righteous on the outside, in inside, they are full of dead man’s bones and all manor of unrighteousness! Jesus said in Matthew 23:15: “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are so careful to clean the outside of the cup and the dish, but inside you are filthy—full of greed and self-indulgence!
These self-righteous parasites go around spreading their infectious hate wherever they can. Its a deadly neurotoxin that will leave you ineffective in the Kingdom and leave you devoid of the spiritual life, authority, and power you have in Christ.
They tell us that if we don’t live our lives how they tell us to, we’re going to Hell. They try to force us to be who they want us to be in the name of being a christian, in the name of fitting in, in order to belong or to be saved.
The religious self-righteous person is the worst kind of this parasite! But the world has their own type of this parasite. Its called the popularity parasite. These self righteous parasites tell you that if you don’t walk, talk, dress, act, style your hair, think, or be a certain way – then you don’t belong and never will!
I could go on, but I think you get the point.
Don’t fall under their spell. For as it is written: For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (2 Corinthians 3:17)
Be lead by the Holy Spirit and ask him to delete the Self-righteous parasites and their destructive influence from your life.
