The Narcissistic Parasite

  • Today, we’ll deal with the sixth and final spiritual parasite you must purge from your life. This is the most deadly and dangerous type of spiritual parasite as they embody the sum of all the other types of spiritual parasites. The name of this parasite is the narcissist.

The narcissist needs to be worshiped – to be the center of attention. They will stop at nothing to get it! To get what they want from you. They will manipulate you, flatter you and make you feel special – as long as you’re giving them the attention and worship that they want.

But say one little thing they don’t like and watch out! They will turn on you and attack you and tear you to shreds. They will play the victim and leave you feeling like you’re the one at fault. You’ll quickly find yourself apologizing for things you didn’t do or when you did nothing wrong.

They are masters at picking at your insecurities and weakness in order to get you to “fall inline”.

At first it will start out small and be barely noticeable. But then slowly, but surely, they’ll start to say passive aggressive things like “You should workout more” “You should dress like me.” Then they’ll start saying things like “You should just be grateful that I even want to hang out with you!”

They will start to try to control you, who you hang out with, who you talk to, how you dress, how you walk, the list goes on.

They’ll tell you that you’re nothing without them. That they gave you everything you have. That people only talk to you because they’re friends with you. That no one would want to be your friend if it wasn’t for them.

They feed on your insecurities. On your energy. Narcissists in may cultures are called by another name – emotional vampire. Just like the fictional vampires that feed on the blood of another, narcissists feed on the emotions of others – leaving them feeling drained and to weak to fight what’s happening to them.

After awhile, you’ll start to believe the lies they are telling you. That you deserve to be treated this way. That you can’t do better than them. That you should just be grateful they want to be your friend. That you are nothing without them.

That by dressing you how they want you to dress, acting how they want you to act, being who they want you to be, and believing like they want you to believe, they are actually making your life better – that they are actually doing you a favor.

Not only will they try to control you, they will try to control what other people think about you. They will put you down to others and try to keep them from seeing the real you. They believe that you belong to them. That they can be your only friend. They will only let you hang out with people they approve of – if they let you go anywhere without them.

I again could go on, but you get the point.

Beware of the religious narcissist. They are the worst kind.

Isaiah 32:7 puts it this way, “Also the schemes of the schemer are evil; He devises wicked plans to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaks justice.”

If you have a narcissist in your life, look for these signs. If you can’t see them, ask a close family member, friend, they’ll tell you what you can’t see. Lance them off in the beginning stages of their attachment before it’s to late! The longer you let these spiritual leeches feed off of you. the harder it is to get rid of them.

Stop letting them feed off of you and stop letting them steal your joy, your peace, your confidence, your time, your individuality, etc.

Remember, you are fearfully and wonderfully made in the imagine and likeness of Yahweh Elohim. You deserve only the very best. Let the Holy Spirit speak to you heart and set you free.

In Jeremiah 29:11 Yahweh says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

I’ll leave with a Psalm that helped me recover from the abuse I suffered from several narcissists in my life. I pray the Yahweh will use it to revel the truth to you and set you free,
Psalm 139:14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well.
